| Long description | RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide 3rd level incident management and problem management and vendor management support for Application Packaging, Standard Desktop Image, Desktop lab and other Desktop and Collaboration Services
• Work with Global Technology Towers in understanding market trends and roadmaps of different and related technologies for efficient working of the ITS
• Work as Virtual Team to the Technology Towers and other ITS counterparts on Global Projects and assist in implementing and communicating the global standards within the ITS
• Provide Technical Consultancy to Professional Services on new or existing service builds or change for desktop and Middleware deployments
• Internally will work closely with Implementation team on migration projects and non-standard or new architecture deployments
• Key focus is to provide Technical Expertise to RUN services, ITS Cost Efficiency, Infrastructure and Data lifecycle management, Security and Global Standards.
• In consultation with Development and Regional IS, develop standards and guidelines for the exploitation of desktop technologies.
• Consult with Regional IS regarding their implementation plans to ensure strategy and roadmaps are aligned.
• Provide technical leadership to global desktop services team.
• This role will provide direct technical leadership to up to 3 team members – 3rd party vendor technicians. The person in this role will also liaise with other IT personnel around to globe to ensure a consistent message and service.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Comprehensive in-depth knowledge and experience of working with desktop services in a high availability environment.
• Specialist, in-depth knowledge of desktop hardware and software and their management in a large scale global enterprise.
• Proficient knowledge of PC and server infrastructure (Win98/NT4/XP/W2003)
• Proficient administration skills in Active Directory domains
• Proficient in Networking technology (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
• Proficient knowledge of MS Outlook client setup Familiar with HP Openview
• Proficient knowledge of Operations Center processes and working practices, in particular DC Operations, Help Desk, and Change Mgmt.
• Proficient in Scripting Languages (VB script, MS-DOS batch)
• Proficient in Windows Installer technology
• Aware of Corporate, Industry and Professional Standards (ITIL)
• Aware of virtualization technologies/products
• Project Management capabilities to assist to manage technology solution projects.
• Capable of understanding business requirements and delivering effective integration solutions.
• Ability to work in a multi national environment with people across different cultures in different time zones.
• Ability to travel internationally up to 30% of work time per year.
• 10+ years IT experience, including :
• At least 6 years of Desktop and Collaboration experience
• At least 3 years IT-related Product Management experience
• 5 years working for a large Global corporation (ideally Logistics)
• Demonstrated capability in leveraging new technology and continuous improvement of work processes to increase performance/productivity while reducing costs
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent work experience. |
